About Us
The Fiji Hamilton Sevens NZ is a rugby sevens tournament held in Hamilton, New Zealand. Organized and supported by the Fiji Society Hamilton, this premier event celebrates the deep rugby heritage shared by Fijians and Kiwis, bringing together top-tier athletes from New Zealand, Fiji, Samoa, Tonga, and Australia in a high-performance competition.
This tournament is more than just rugby—it’s a platform for emerging talent to be discovered by national selectors, including those from the NZ All Blacks Sevens and the Fiji Sevens. With a strong reputation for developing world-class athletes, rugby sevens is a proven pathway to Olympic success, as demonstrated by Fiji’s historic gold medal victory at the 2016 Rio Olympics.

About the Fiji Society Hamilton
The Fiji Society Hamilton is a non-profit organization dedicated to supporting and uniting the Fijian community in Hamilton and the wider Waikato region. Our mission is to preserve Fijian language, culture, and traditions while fostering integration and contribution to the broader New Zealand society.
Operating out of Te Whānau Putahi Marae, we offer:
✅ Fijian Language Classes (ages 5-13) aligned with the NZ school calendar.
✅ Women’s Empowerment Programs (traditional weaving, sewing, and cooking classes).
✅ Youth Development Sessions (leadership, life skills, traditional hymns, and dance).
Through these programs, we aim to uplift our youth, strengthen cultural identity, and create future leaders—both on and off the field.
